Twitch on an LED panel

Followers and live viewers of a Twitch channel.

You need: A Twitch account (any account can follow a channel's numbers) · About 3 minutes

What it shows

  • FOLLOWS
  • LIVE

Each value refreshes every 2 min. The view shows the Twitch icon, the name of what you follow, then each value with its title above it.

How to set it up

  1. Register an app

Open the Twitch developer console, click Register Your Application: any name, OAuth Redirect URLs = the address below, Category = Other, Client Type = Confidential. Then Manage it and copy the Client ID, and click New Secret to copy a secret.

    Twitch developer console

    Redirect URL: https://localhost:8888/callback

    Enter in DataPix: Client ID

    Enter in DataPix: Client secret

  2. Allow access

Click the button and approve. You will land on a page that can't be reached -- that is expected.

Then press Connect Twitch in DataPix.

  3. Paste the address and pick the channel

Copy the whole address of that page, paste it here, and type the channel to show.

Enter in DataPix: Address of the page

    Enter in DataPix: Channel

  4. Add it

In DataPix go to Views → Add a View → Streaming & music → Twitch, fill in the form, press Test to see real values, then Add. You can also add it to any view as one value: Add a value → App stat.

Updates every 2 minutes. LIVE shows N/A while the channel is offline.

The login is stored on this device only and renewed by it. Exported views never contain it.

Keys and sign-ins stay on your DataPix. Change or remove them any time under Accounts & API keys.
