Home Assistant on an LED panel

Any Home Assistant sensor or switch -- a temperature, power use, a door, a light.

Free API key  You need: Home Assistant on the same network as DataPix · About 3 minutes

What it shows

  • state

Each value refreshes every 30 s. The view shows the Home Assistant icon, the name of what you follow, then each value with its title above it.

How to set it up

  1. Create an access token

In Home Assistant click your profile (bottom left), open the Security tab, scroll to Long-lived access tokens, click Create token, name it "DataPix" and copy it.

Enter in DataPix: Home Assistant address

Enter in DataPix: Long-lived access token

  2. Choose the entity

In Settings > Devices & services > Entities, open the sensor and copy its Entity ID (e.g. sensor.living_room_temperature).

    Enter in DataPix: Entity ID

    Enter in DataPix: Title (optional)

  3. Add it

In DataPix go to Views → Add a View → Energy & home → Home Assistant, fill in the form, press Test to see real values, then Add. You can also add it to any view as one value: Add a value → App stat.

Updates every 30 seconds. Shows the entity's state as Home Assistant reports it.

If something is wrong

Value shows --

Use the IP address (not homeassistant.local), include the port (:8123), and check the token.

Value shows N/A

The entity ID is wrong -- copy it again from Home Assistant.

The token is stored on this device only and is removed from exported views. Create a separate token for DataPix so you can revoke it any time.

Keys and sign-ins stay on your DataPix. Change or remove them any time under Accounts & API keys.
