Apps → Travel & space → Flights overhead

Flights overhead on an LED panel

How many aircraft are near you right now, and the nearest flight.

No setup  You need: Nothing -- works out of the box · Under a minute

What it shows

  • PLANES
  • NEAREST
  • TOP FT (optional)

Each value refreshes every 1 min. The view shows the Flights overhead icon, the name of what you follow, then each value with its title above it.

How to set it up

Uses adsb.lol, a free community network of aircraft receivers.

  1. Choose where

Search for your town and choose how far around it to count aircraft.

    Enter in DataPix: Place

    Enter in DataPix: Distance

  2. Add it

In DataPix go to Views → Add a View → Travel & space → Flights overhead, fill in the form, press Test to see real values, then Add. You can also add it to any view as one value: Add a value → App stat.

Updates every minute. Includes aircraft on the ground near airports. Coverage depends on volunteer receivers nearby.

If something is wrong

PLANES shows 0 and NEAREST N/A

No aircraft in range right now, or no receiver covers your area. Try a larger distance.
